1931 Collotype Simone Martini Saint Martin Beggar Trecento 14th Century XAE8 MD2 This is an original 1907This is an original 1931 two color collotype of a piece by Italian late medieval artist Simone Martini which depicts an experience the Patron Saint had one evening, when he kindly split his cloak in half to cover a poor man. Later that night, he dreamt that it was Jesus who had received the cloak, and Christ expressed gratitude that an unbaptized Roman soldier had clothed him. Today, Saint Martin is the patron saint of soliders, and is one of the most
