The areas exceptional climate is moderated by sea breezes, and the vineyards clay and sand soils are ideal for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The delicate Merlot is picked during the first half of September, while robust Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are harvested in the second
