Mayacamas, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder, Cabernet Sauvignon 1979 Normandy Heady aromas of strawberrybase of neck or better; lightly bin soiled labels 93 points John Gilman Interestingly, the 1979 Mayacamas cabernet is not a whole lot more developed than the 1984 or 1985, and clearly needs at least a few more years of cellaring to fully blossom and soften. However, a bit more patience will certainly be rewarded, as this wine offers up an excellent bouquet of cassis, dark berries, bell pepper, singed tobacco, a bit of La Mission like chipotle pepper
