Brass Elephant Piggy Bank vintage The leather of the strap

The leather of the strap closure for the box is somewhat stiff/cracked

And they hold a lot

In researching the origins of this carved wooden comb

and closed in 1962)

what could be sweeter for holding a few favorite rings or a bunch of paperclips than this vintage gold and black lacquer frog box

Brass Elephant Piggy Bank vintage The leather of the strapI think this vintage mid century brass piggy bank would make the perfect gift for the young and emerging collector (i. e. toddler to 12 yr old!) with great taste. But it would also be great on his or her parents' dresser, collecting loose change. Classic mid mod design; in great condition with a nice warm patina. (I have not polished it.) 5 3 4 inches long, 3 3 4 inches tall, 2 1 4" wide.
