Special Old Burl Carved Bird 1930s artwork I’m completely smitten with this

I’m completely smitten with this little antique stoneware crock-type match holder

It's a vessel

clearly very loyal dog in this sweet antique British graphite drawing really sold me on it

A bit of glare caught in photos - not fold lines

Love from Florrie

Special Old Burl Carved Bird 1930s artwork I’m completely smitten with thisJust a wonderful old carving from a piece of burl wood, with the grain of the wood giving added life to the body of the bird and making the whole piece feel rather as if in flight. Subtle but really quite a special one I think, actually one of my favorite carvings Iver had. 3 1 8 t x 4 l x 1 3 8 d. There is a small bit of loss to the tail of the bird and to the very tip of its beak, both minor and old and I dont think detracting. Wonderful dry wood
