Whether indoors or outdoors

A flow enhancer that improves the flow

Simply drop the colour onto water

Add Liquitex Gel Medium or Heavy Gel Medium when using additional aggregates (such as sand) to avoid brittleness

When applied direct to the acrylic ground it acts as a mild sealer and helps to prevent the 'deadening' effect of over absorption of the oil vehicle

Winsor & Newton Oil Painting Primer Brand_Prismacolor Whether indoors or outdoorsOil painting primer imparts a traditional oil base. Some artists prefer this and may find a slight increase in gloss and smoothness. Oil primed canvases may slacken off less than acrylic primed canvases. A coat of warm glue size is required first. As a result of their formulation, Winsor & Newton acrylic primers are also suitable for oil painting. They are popular because they dry quickly and do not require any sizing underneath.
