I find it super poignant

A little paint is apt to flake off in handling

and sense of internal glowing-ness to the blue mountain and water and sky

Crusty, Sculptural Old White Painted Cricket Stool grecian sculpture showing the backing as sewnI'm forever searching for old handmade stools with lots of character and this one reads to me as much as sculpture as it does functional object, though having stood on this one a few times hanging pictures high on the wall, I can say it very functional, too. Satisfying construction, especially the way those diagonal supports meet the grooves cut into the top and legs, perfectly crusty old white paint, and beautifully softened edges from time and use.
