Instituted 18 January 1851 by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. (1851 1918 issue). Constructed of 18K Gold with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a double sided Prussian imperial eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, executed in fine black enamels with feathering and details highlighted in gilt, overlaid across its chest by a white and black enameled Hohenzollern coat of arms, with its head
